Jekyll Island Wedding Packages
The team of Sun and Sea perform a large amount of our weddings on Jekyll Island. This wedding location has become our second most popular beach, only exceeded by St. Augustine. One of the main reasons is that Jekyll Island is logistically easier for many local Georgians. Our couples fall in love with the natural beauty and the ease of driving in for their destination wedding.
Jekyll Island — Your Beach Wedding Destination
As a barrier island, Jekyll Island’s 10 miles of unspoiled beaches are perfect for sunbathing or swimming, for leisurely walks or invigorating jogs. Perhaps best known for their natural bounty, Jekyll Island’s beaches offer shell collecting for guests young and old. Many live creatures abound as well, including hermit crabs and sand dollars. Though it is tempting to collect these interesting creatures, you can help preserve the Island’s shoreline environment by leaving them as you find them, and by limiting your “catch” of shells. You can learn all about the creatures you see on the beaches of Jekyll Island at the Tidelands Nature Center’s exhibit area. The Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island rehabilitates injured, sick, cold-shocked, and stranded sea turtles; the public can visit the Center, see the patients, and even watch some surgeries.
There are many beautiful beach wedding locations on Jekyll Island, including the remarkable Driftwood Beach. Driftwood Beach is one of the most unique beach venues in all of the east coast. With washed ashore driftwood for as far as the eye can see, this location is ideal for beach wedding photography.
